Nigel Bellingham, British Council, Tunisia.

This week I made my first trip to Sousse. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to see the city or learn anything about the situation there, but I hope to make a return visit soon.

The purpose of my visit was to take part in a meeting of the steering group of the project to reform English language teaching in Tunisian schools. Led by the Ministry of Education this project has been in the pipeline for several years now, but for one reason or another it is yet to get underway. 
 
Our role in the British Council is to provide advice and support. In this capacity, on behalf of the ELRP project we asked the UK consultant, Joy Griffiths, to review the project plan and make recommendations for a refresh.
